Shah Rukh Khan unveils a fiery new poster of King, featuring a gun, a rose and an intense action-hero look. The superstar calls himself a lover, not a killer, as anticipation builds for the December 24, 2026 release.
In the newly released poster, Shah Rukh Khan is seen walking through fire with a rose in his mouth. He holds a gun and sports an intense expression, presenting a look that combines romance with action.
The actor captioned the poster on Instagram, “Aaj phir yaad aaya... Qaatil nahi… Aashiq hoon… #KING In cinemas 24.12.26.”
The caption, which translates to “Not a killer, but a lover”, echoes the title track of his 1999 film Baadshah, adding a romantic element to the character's otherwise intense appearance.
The title of King was revealed on November 2, 2025, coinciding with Shah Rukh Khan’s 60th birthday. The first glimpse of the film featured the actor in a silver-haired avatar, sporting an intense action-hero look. The teaser also featured the dialogue, “Darr nahi, dehshat hoon.”
In January this year, the makers announced the film’s release date, confirming that King would arrive in cinemas on December 24, 2026.
The actor recently addressed the much-anticipated trailer during an AskSRK session on social media. When a fan asked why the trailer was taking so long, Shah Rukh clarified that he was not deliberately keeping fans waiting.
He suggested that the team was taking its time to put together something that would do justice to the film. Responding with his characteristic humour, the actor said, “Ab picture hi dekho na! Tarsa nahi raha join acchhi wali bana raha hoon....ke Dil ko tasalli mile....Sab ayega…24th Dec se pehle (Watch the film directly. I am depriving you of anKing.”
King stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role and is directed by Siddharth Anand. The film marks the actor’s second collaboration with the director after Pathaan (2023).
The film also features Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahalawat, Raghav Juyal and Saurabh Shukla, among others.
The project marks Shah Rukh Khan’s first film with his daughter Suhana Khan, who made her acting debut with The Archies in 2023.
With the latest poster offering another glimpse into the film’s action-driven narrative and Shah Rukh Khan’s intense new look, King is scheduled to arrive in theatres on December 24, 2026.
